A little over a year ago, when I was working my first job, I was stuck by an insulin syringe after giving my patient an injection. I filed a report and my employer said don't worry about it, she doesn't have anything. Now a year later, I know I should have gone to the doctor. Does anyone know if there are laws requiring an employer to send the healthcare worker for testing following a needlestick? It was a small facility with less then 9 employees.
