The mask either has to cover all the hair, or a convertor hood must be worn to cover it. No exceptions. The rule's "all hair must be covered", but you wouldn't believe how many people think that facial hair doesn't count.

We all know that MD's are the worst offenders. Some even wear the same scrubs for days!

That is an absolutely absurd rule. I have hair on my head, hair on my arms, hair on my face. There is no way on God's green earth I am covering it all up to work anywhere, except the OR.

BTW, all humans have hair covering their entire body, with the exception of the palm of the hands and the soles of the feet... and that includes women. It sounds like you work in a wafer fab and not a healthcare facility.

What is the policy for makeup? It's a very well known fact that makeup flakes off throughout the wearing period which is precisely why it is not permitted in a wafer fab.

My apologies. That's a good policy I believe for an OR.

Wait, I just thought of this.

What about a FEMALE with chest hair? Should she be required to wear a T-Shirt.

Re: Male Chest Hair and Scrub Tops

During our clinicals one student had a lot of chest hairs. It actually was connected with his hair on his back and connected with his hair on his head. I mean it was A LOT. He wore a T-shirt underneath, but the hair was still coming out of the T-shirt in the front and back. There is no way he can hide that. But I do not know if our instructor asked him to put a T-shirt on, or not.
