Job satisfaction

All things considered... pay, ratios, acuity, opportunity to use your skills, co-workers, management, etc... what you say your overall satisfaction with your job is?

Re: Job satisfaction

I voted for "average", because some days are fulfilling and other days are absolutely crappy.

I said ''average'', too, although it is bordering on low lately. More crappy days than happy days.

Re: Job satisfaction

I voted for average, because i love the job that i do, however, some of the people make the job a little harder than it has to be for others, simply because some are only there for a paycheck and that's it (their words, not mine). Plus some people act like the plpace is a place to socialize, i mean, i've never seen so many people that get paid to stand around and breathe, while others bust their ***es, AS usual.

Lately, the only way i'm getting through it w/o popping a vein from BP is reminding myself that i'll be wasting away for 10 days at Margaritaville in Key West 23 days from now. Maybe that's part of the problem. I know i need a break, that's probably why the lazy people are getting to me more than usual.

Re: Job satisfaction

I really love my job, the pay is good, I only have to drive 15mins to work, work load is pretty much a breeze. We laugh a lot and generally have a good time. I leave work and don't have to think about it till I come in next time. Compared to the job I had before, this is paradise.

There are a few things I'd certainly improve if I had the power and $$, but overall I'm quite satisfied.

Talking Re: Job satisfaction

I'm fortunate enough---at last!!---to be in the "Very High" satisfaction category. My job provides me with the opportunity to be as creative and autonomous as I want to be; while I wish it paid a little better and I had more of a budget to work with, these are small considerations given the freedom I have to make the job what I want it to be. I've had jobs where I made lots of $$ and was miserable; I'd do this one for half my current wage (but don't let my boss know that! ).

Re: Job satisfaction

At present "high"............although last September I was seriously considering leaving, possibly without notice. But the admin finally saw what was going on around him ( after half the staff either went to him or mailed anon. letters) and canned the DON.

I'd never worked with such a pathologically toxic boss......... our new DON is one of the best I've ever worked with.

It's amazing how much difference one person can make.

That's ironic, because last September, I would've ranked my satisfaction ''high'' and possibly ''very high''. Now, it's average, bordering on low.

Re: Job satisfaction

I'm surprised... in reading posts here, I thought that the bulk of the responses would have been ''average'' rather than high... Maybe it is in the threads I read, or maybe people tend to post more about the bad days than the good ones. Not that this is scientific or anything, I am just surprised at the higher than expected # of people who are still happy with their jobs.

Re: Job satisfaction

I voted Very High. I love my job... extra pay would always be nice but it's competitive so I can't complain. We have a good atmosphere and lots of teamwork so that always helps for morale.
