I only tell some people. I sure wouldn't want my boss reading some of the things I've posted here. e.g. Lets get the Florida staffing ratios law passed

I was lucky enough to meet one of your members and after some discussion she told me about your website. I am thankful that she did. Endgame is a great nurse and I only wish I had met her before I accepted this job. I would have pushed harder and waited to get into the Neuro ICU internship program, if she would have been my preceptor. God bless the veteran nurses that have given so much to the craft. I am thankful every time my path crosses one of theirs.

Re: Do you talk about allnurses.com at work?

I met a wonder and great friend of mine thru this site on a local thread but.......

As much as I would like to tell people (sorry Brian) I'm worried that people will figure out it's me, my screen name isn't that hard to see thru...... and I've posted just enough info that, with combined with my screen name, someone could very easily figure out its me and then I wouldn't have my safe haven anymore.

So...it's my secret I post except to my friend who hears about my complaints long before I post here.

Re: Do you talk about allnurses.com at work?

I am a student and have mentioned it to a few other students. As far as I know, none of them have visited allnurses.com. It takes a person with initiative and desire to learn and expand horizons to actually take the time to explore this site. That's another reason this site is so valuable! The people using it and offering info are people who are knowledgeable and helpful!

That is my feeling about nursing students and nurses...they need to take the initiative to search things out. I remember finding this on my own by web browsing when I was a student, and I discovered that this is truly a gold mine. I learn more from here than work, many times. I feel this place is my internet family. However, I don't think it is safe (for me-not saying anyone else should feel this way) to mention it to people and insist that they join. I do have one friend who I continously told about it, and she didn't join at all. I just stopped. But I share too much information that can possibly be recognized, and since I am a very private person off the job, so, I want to have peace. I vent here, ask questions, cry here, and all. Also, I am told that I speak the way that I write, so many people may recognize my language and I'd rather not prove it by saying that I am such an avid participant here. It may get back to my supervisor (if she isn't here already).

Re: Do you talk about allnurses.com at work?

I am a nurse instructor and refer to this wonderful place regularly and gratefully, that there is a forum like this for all, CNAs and Nurses alike, without regard to levels of educational prep. Thank you.

I don't because I want to stay anonymous. I talk about things at work and don't want to be identified.
