I sometimes wonder if there has been any change in the demographic of people entering nursing. When I went, I was the youngest in my class ( I was 20). Most of my classmates were in their 40s, second career sort of thing, BSN wasn't an option for most d/t financial or time constraints. I still don't see many BSNs around....
stats nationwide reflect that roughly 60% of first-time RNs start w/ADN.....about 35% with BSN, the rest, other routes like Diploma, 2nd-degree "fast track" programs, etc. This is the USA, of course, your answers would vary from other countries, such as Canada or the Philippines, for example.
I didn't answer because I graduated from a hospital based diploma program. The "certificate" option sounds like something you'd find on the back of a cereal box.
