I really hope these kids get the opportunity to go to College. Not to sound too sexist, but especially the girls. I hope they get the chance to see that there is A LOT more to life than just:

Re: Woman expecting her 18th child

I was one of eight children and that is the reason I chose to only have one. My parents took us on great vacations, we had plenty to eat, never in debt, always had someone to play with, etc. But do you know what was always missing that my son has? In order to support eight children my father had to work a lot of hours to keep us out of debt and pay for those great vacations. My mother was exhausted from having little ones nursing or nipping at her ankles and alot of my memories of her was her falling asleep on the couch from the sheer exhaustion of raising eight kids. My parents were not lazy people. My father died when I was in nursing school from a massive heart attack and I honestly never had enough time. Do you know what my son has that I was always missing? Time with me. If you watch that show you will see those children have all the things that keep them alive and always someone to play with but it seems the person who comforts them the most is the sibling next to them.

Re: Woman expecting her 18th child

I grew up as the oldest girl in a family of 7 children, and I can tell you for sure that as such, I wouldn't ever do it to my children. It's too much responsibility for the older kids.

To everyone that is disgusted I LAUGH. Those kids are so well mannered, well behaved... and they look HAPPY. They should be role models to every other American Family. I love them.
And to everyone with their "over population" remark, you have no idea what you are talking about. Europeans have such low birth rates that we'll literally be near extinct in the next few hundred years. Places in Europe are now giving INCENTIVES to have Children.

Right now, there are probably 6 loads of laundry backed up waiting to get done and both of the bathrooms need to be cleaned.

Oh yeah, I think I could handle 18 of them allrighty...
Have you assigned Jurisdictions?

Re: Woman expecting her 18th child

I wonder if they really want all those kids or if they think they are doing this for God and as an acquiescence to His will? I hope they are all alright. I guess some people really do think it is a blessing to have all of those kids. I wish I had 7 or 8 or 10 myself.

I wonder how each spouse would survive without the other? Who is the breadwinner? Do the kids feel good about themselves and their family? Etc.

Maybe you think China's got it right.

How about the article on how the mentally handicapped should be allowed to reproduce at will?

I think these people have a perfect right to have kids as long as they can take care of them and as long as they truly want them and are not having them out of guilt or some other unhealthy motive.

Google "earth overpopulation" and read one of the 1.1 million or so links that come up. Or if you can't be bothered with that, at least look at this:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science...tion.overview/

And why do you think the EU is offering incentives for people to have more kids? It's not any altruistic reason, to be sure. It's not because babies are so cute and adorable: it's to make sure that there are more people coming up through the ranks than are aging and receiving old-age benefits. And numerous studies have shown that the incentives being offered to have kids are inducing only low-income, uneducated people to pump out babies...which then end up being more of a drain on their social systems at an earlier age.

Do some homework before posting.

Re: Woman expecting her 18th child

Okay, it is time we all got down to the basics: our earth is in dire need of help and we all need to be aware of every person's affect on this planet. The last thing we all need is more people puttin even a greater strain on our dwindling resources. The world has changed, folks, and we cannot do what ever we want to do anymore, even if we have the money to pay for it. We all have to work together to sustain this world and people having this many children just are placing themselves ahead of our planet and everyonelse's welfare. They are all saying that they are more important than anyone else and what they want is more important. You may think this is about kids, family, love, etc., but it isn't. It is about ALL OF US finally gettin the real picture and accepting the truth that we have to work together to save our planet and our lives. We are all responsible.
