A federal indictment accuses Lori Drew, 49, of O'Fallon, Missouri, of using the social networking Web site MySpace.com to pose as a 16-year-old boy and feign romantic interest in the girl.
The girl, Megan Meier, committed suicide after her online love interest spurned her, according to prosecutors, telling her the world would be a better place without her.
I think her behavior goes WAY past selfish and awful! This was in every way pre-meditated assault on a child, and using words instead of a baseball bat doesn't make it any better. How much time and energy went into this hoax--with the sole intent of wounding this troubled child. This makes me want to retch...and I hope she goes away for a LONG time, and has a cellmate known as "LArge Marge" who has anger management issues!!!
I was very disturbed when I listened to this report. This woman needs a stiff punishment but it won't bring that poor young girl back. The news said this woman was well aware the girl was troubled since the age of 9 or so, even gave the girl her meds on some overnight field trip. So sad.
