Re: Rice crisis in Asia

this is a shame because rice is a staple in the diets of many many nations

in a related [?] story, sams club is restricting the amount of rice that can be bolught in their usa stores..this should not effect the normal household but is slated to limited the number [4] large bags of rice that can be purchased

Re: Rice crisis in Asia

I heard on our local news today that a large well known bulk products store chain will not allow anyone to buy more than one 100 lb.bag of rice at a time due to possible shortages here in THIS country.

Re: Rice crisis in Asia

a contribution to the problem was that the price of rice in asia fell to an all time low so that the farmers did not plant which in turn caused a shortage of rice, so now they are planting again

I also heard that the drought in Australia has harmed the rice growing.
