Prosecutor: Siegelman, Scrushy may be obstructing justice

I heard the tail end of a radio show so looked this up. I don't know much but do believe that politicians from both parties often do favors for contributors.
Why should a Health South CEO be on a HOSPITAL REGULATORY BOARD? Isn't this a classic "Fox guarding the henhouse" scenario?
IF he is right that his prosecution was politically motivated and IF he is guilty then punish him I tend to think he is.
BUT investigate them ALL.

Prosecutor: Siegelman, Scrushy may be obstructing justice

By JAY REEVES Associated Press Writer

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Former Gov. Don Siegelman and ex-HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy are "reaching out from their jail cells" in an attempt to sway events linked to their case in a way that could be obstruction of justice, a federal prosecutor told a judge Wednesday...

...Prosecutors alleged Scrushy arranged $500,000 in contribution to the state lottery campaign promoted by Siegelman in exchange for Siegelman appointing him to an influential state hospital regulatory board.
