Nancy Grace - Cnn

nancy grace and cnn are being sued by the family of melinda duckett with the claim that the agressive interview led to ms duckett's suicide after the disappearance of the ducketts child
i didn't see this particular interview but i have seen grace go after someone with a venom that really isn't necessary
if the mother was involved in the boys disappearance her death leaves forever questions unanswered
i don't know if the interview or perhaps quilt lead to the suicide but with the rights of the press i don't think the family will succeed

I have seen her and the irritates me and I do not like her style or her big mouth. She wants to make a mountain out of a molehill, such a big contrast to Anderson Cooper who goes after facts without twisting things and intimidating his interviewees.

I doubt the lawsuit has any warrant however. Suicide is a personal choice and another person can't cause it.

I'll agree with the parts of Tweety's post I quoted.

i did not see that episode either.but that aggressiveness is nancy's style the girl had to know that going in .and nancy has free speech i don't believe the lawsuit will succeed.we will never know now if the mom was involved or what caused her suicide but it was not nancy.

I try hard to give Nancy a break because I agree with alot of her opinions regarding child molesters and murderers and am always on the victim's side but she overdoes the mean face and aggressive attitude. I just can't watch her.

No matter if melissa duckett's family wins, suing Nancy Grace and CNN doesn't bring her back.

It's a very sad situation.

Nancy Grace isn't one of my favorite people, either. But I don't see her being the cause of someone else's destructiveness. As Tweety pointed out, you can't make someone else kill themself. That's a personal decision.

Re: Nancy Grace - Cnn

Everytime I see individuals or families being put in the spotlight of the media in these (usually) tragic circumstances, I get upset and think about how I would feel in the same situation. People do not even have to be the kind who prefer privacy to a fault to be adversely affected by the inhuman/inhumane scrutiny of the media. To me it does not even matter whether or not the person being scrutinized is or is not guilty of anything. Yesterday's paper had a pertinent article written by Richard Cohen of the Washington Post concerning Monica Lewinsky which addresses this subject well.

Here is my controversial opinion on this issue.

I believe Melinda Duckett was a young, overwhelmed mother who did something to harm her son. The typical mother has hope and wants to stay alive in the event that her child returns someday. A mother who is bears culpability will shoot herself in the head when an aggressive interview exposes her for who she truly is while millions of television viewers are watching.

I don't particularly care for Nancy Grace, but I think the interview shed light on the mother's guilt.
