Very true. There are vicious people on both ends of the political spectrum who literally LIVE to insult those who hold opposing viewpoints. I think things would be better if they all would just shut up and go away!

I see this a lot, but I have a hard time thinking of anyone on the liberal side that even approaches the level of Coulter or for that matter, Michael "Savage" Weiner, Hannity, and Michelle Malkin.

Al Frankin is about the best counterexample and his stuff is harmless jokes no where close to stuff like widows of 911 being hussies in it for the money or nuking the middle east and converting them all to Christianity-- stuff off the top of my head she's said.

Olbermann is a good analogue to O'reilly-- I'll accept that. Other than that, who's big and mainstream and anywhere close to as hateful on the liberal side?

And even if there were suitable analogues- which there aren't- I don't believe that "two wrongs made a right" worked in elementary school, and despicable activities shouldn't be excused by it today.

I agree with this...Maher seems like a bitter, little ugly man. He's said some things that just made me cringe.

How about Bill O'Reilly? I used to think he was a total idiot but he's actually not that bad really. I was subjected to the Reilly Factor over vacation and it kinda grew on me. By the way, Al Frankin is hilarious. I don't find him to be as offensive as Bill Maher.
