China Earthquake

I am sure everyone has heard about the huge earthquake in SW China, my daughter's sister and brother in law and three kids are in Bejing , felt the quake, sent this email to everyone, cant wait to talk to her in person and get her account . 10, 000, estimated dead already. First the cyclone, now this earthquake, in the US record tornados, makes me wonder what hurricane season will be like. Here is her email:

THANKS! We were in a town called Xian when the quake occurred. It was large there but we were in the country so we felt safe. It was a 1 ½ hour plane ride back to Beijing and almost a miracle our plane was not cancelled. All other flights were cancelled. It was very scary and I will share details when we get back. We have gotten more than we bargained for on this trip! This is an interesting place with so much history…we have all gotten an education.

Please continue to pray…
We miss home!

Re: China Earthquake

this is such a tragedy, with earthquakes many of the dead and injured aare buried in the rubble so death toll will most certainly go upward
horrible to lying there in the dark waiting for help probably hearing cries for help

Re: China Earthquake

We think it's bad (and it is) when nearly 1900 people are lost in a hurricane. But by comparison we are sitting pretty. I just can't wrap my head around tens of thousands of dead and missing, the total devastation.
