Ranting/Agency tests/Rn vs LVN

OKay OkaY, I know I should have just went ahead and gone back to school along time ago for my RN license, but I didn't. And now gonna pay for it!
Last week (after working five days in Level 11 nursery for Hermann's PREMEIER agency/float pool), they told me I had to come back in and take test for Level 11 nursery. (and worked 5 yrs for this hospital IN LEVEL 11 Nursery)
OKAY, they forgot the test when I was hired, so no big deal.
WELL, TODAY I called and was schudeling the test time and found out I have to take Picu AND Nicu Test. BOTH are geared for only for RN's/ and damn if I'm not gonna flunk, even though I can do my damn job, and do it well.
Talked to big boss, and he "saw my point, but nothing" he can do about it.
I am sooooooooooo ******, I feel like just dropping them, but if I do, there isn't any REAL pedi/nursery places to work where your not gonna get cancelled like crazy.
LIKE I SAID, MY FAULT, should have done my RN yrs ago.
ANYWAY, no need to reply, I just am ****** and had to write it out before I hit something.
*heyyy, my dh is off today!!!

My agency has a generic critical care test...and about half of them are pedi ICU and NICU type questions...I freaked! of course I aced the adult questions but didn't know the kiddo questions. So..I decided to write at the top of that test "I am NOT a pedi ICU nurse and don't wish to be one!!!" They send this test to all my hospitals so I felt I needed to get my point across directly on the test...LOL!!

STILL don't understand WHY they have pedi questions for adult ICU nurses tho...

One of the hospitals I worked at didn't have a pedi ICU, but peds cases did come to the "regular" ICU/CCU.

I just quit a job that told us they were going to start taking pedis into the adult ICU. Sick kiddos/babies aren't just 'little adults' in the ICU...its a whole different ballgame...one I don't want to play...LOL!!

Ease up on yourself. You will probably pass the tests even if you do not "do" some of the things they will be asking questions about. I do not believe you've had your head stuck in the sand with the "it's the RNs job, I don't need to know about that." You''ve learned a lot... take the darn test. I bet you'll do great!
I do understand portions are out of the area in which you have worked but surely you have kept up with pedi problems and what measures are taken to resolve those problems.
