Unhappy Rahab hospitals functioning like LTC

I am an acute care nurse and do my agency work at hospitals. I'm curious about other agency's experience in rehab hospitals. I am suspecting my local rehab hospital operates more like LTC.

I have told them I do not wish to do charge or supervisory but they continue to try to place me in what I suspect is a disguised supervisory role. This last shift with them I was assigned admissions asessments only, but I also fear that as one of 2 RN's in the facility I still may be liable for the care rendered by others. Even without the title supervisor.

Any comments or feedback appreciated!

Your agency needs to get the specifics of the assignment. If you aren't sure what is going on then avoid that place.

I think you're right, Badbird...I have a bad feeling about this place anyhow. They have run off most of their licensed staff....bad sign right there.

I'm beginning to question whether my agency cares...they just want the $$ from this facility...the office staff have no idea what I'm talking about when I try to talk to them about liability. There is no medical person over facility staffing to talk to either....the office nurse only handles home care, she tells me. Strange agency, eh? LOL!

Probably need to DNR this facility (and maybe this agency too...LOL)...thanks for the feedback!

This is my first experience with them so I appreciate the feedback. It was a nice place to go at first...I had my little group of patients and I was happy...but things have changed and I'm feeling uneasy now.

I'm at a point in my life where I do NOT want to be responsible for others' care...just my own. The liability is even greater as agency.
