per diem rate

Hello! I have been working as a nurse in icu setting for 6yrs in a federal hospital and I am thinking of switching to a private hospital as per diem nurse. However, I am not sure about a reasonable per diem pay rate for the weekends 12 hr shift on days in icu or er. Could, someone suggest how much I should get pay?
Thanks pu.ppet

Re: per diem rate

It dependes on where you live. Some hospitals pay a weekend option where you work every weekend, but get paid time and a half. My wife is a traveler, but she also picks up extra shifts as an agency nurse. We are in south florida and she makes $40/hr, but since it is an extra shift it is really $60 an hour.
