Nurse Licensure Compact / Compact States

Can anyone give any insight into how this works? I know that there are several states that already have implemented this but I'm not sure of exactly how it works. I work for several agencies that will require me to travel to states that I do not have a nursing license in. Am I covered as long as I work in the Compact states?
