Nurse on the Fly ???

I have a goofy situation going on....sigh....still. I am an RN with 10 years experience, all registry in California. My husband and I moved to Tennessee for his job and the BRN here will not issue me a license here . I am taking the 2 required courses (psychology and music appreciation to satisfy my educational discrepancy) and will have my license end of the year. My RN license is current in California and I am wondering if I can take 2-3 week travel assignments back to California.

I'm reluctant to contact travel agencies because they hound me for months after one phone call. I just want to know how travel assignments work, hows the money, do they pay for your travel expenses and since I would be requesting Orange County facilities, would I get them? So many questions, hopefully some answers...thanks
