MSN and intellistaff DFW agency

Hello,

I have been trying to find a good agency to work for in the DFW area. I am going on Monday to talk to Medical staffing network (MSN). Does anyone here have any experience with this agency? I would love to hear some feedback.

I am currently doing shifts for PRN and I think they may be new. They are very nice but seem limited on shift availability.

I am also considering intellistaff? If anyone knows anything about them. Especially the DFW office?

Thank you in advance for all of your help.

You are doing things backwards. Check out hospitals that you would be interested in working at, then find out which agencies that they use. You will find much better success that way. No sense in signing with an agency if you do not like the facilities where they place, and this can happen.

I have been working with msn for a while, they are alright. You might want to check out all about staffing www.allaboutstaffing.com they are the highest paying.

Exclamation Wouldn't recommend in Seattle

Before I was an RN, I went to MSN to see about CNA agency positions. Their office was a tiny hole in the wall, their "files" were folders in milk crates, and the staff had no medical training or background and did not know what they were doing. Up to 2 years later, I was still being called for shifts - although I had never completed the application process or accepted a position. This was about 4 years ago, but it was shady then, and I'd be surprised if it was much better now...

new info

I am not from dfw so I really do not know what hospitals I wanted to work at anyway. I figure when I get out there I would learn. And I have. I just thought I would share my experience.

MSN has been so difficult. The person who called me to schedule an interview keeps sending me email to tell me all of the hours they are available to interview me. (Apparently he is confused, I am interviewing them. ehem..... anyway.) So I call during those hours and each time get his voice mail. He then takes two to three days to return my call. I finally left a message and told him it was too much of a hassle to get through the first step and progress to being interviewed at the local level . I told him I was no longer interested.

Maxim waited three weeks after I submitted my online app. to call me. Once again, if they are too busy to process an application I do not think they will have enough time to find me work. And I guess I just figure if it takes them that long to contact you they probably are not very dependable????

The local intellistaff person was VERY nice. But it was going to take a week or more for her to process everything etc.... I am not a patient person.

I have a full time job I just started at a hospital here. So I do not have a lot of time or energy to mess with an agency who is unorganized or just simply a pain in my neck.

Here are the two agencies I found that have made things simple, convenient, they can find me a shift easily and best of all when I call them I get to talk to a person who is friendly. Texas American Medical Staffing and MedStaffing INC. So if anyone is looking for a good agency I would recommend these. Both offer next day pay and they are very easy to work for. They are both in Dallas. I wish I had found someplace in Fort Worth. But, since it is a part time occasional thing for me to work agency it does not matter that much. And they are so easy to deal with I have done almost everything by computer, fax, phone and mail. I have only had to go to the actual office once.

Just thought I would share my experience in case anyone is looking for a good agency.

Have a great day

Re: MSN and intellistaff DFW agency

I don't know much about MSN, but I have been with InteliStaf in the Seattle area for about 13 months. I was refered to them through a friend and I have been completely happy with them.

Everyone is very nice and attentive. The paperwork and process did take about a week, but now they have an on-line application process that can cut down on that time. Plus I was told that InteliStaf is the only agency that requires their employees to go through a credentialing process, which is an interview with an RN. I am assuming this gives their agency more credibility with the hospitals and would cut down on their liability insurance.

I am also aware that InteliStaf is seeking JCAHO cerification, which should make them an even more desirable choice for the facilites they contract with.

I have always gotten good shifts, and when cancelled, the staffers do a good job of finding me a shift at another facility.

I don't know about the office in DFW, but I am assuming that their policies and proceedures are similar.

Re: MSN and intellistaff DFW agency

Maxim will have you working when the others cancel you - they pay a little bit less, hence they are the last agency the hospitals cancel because they don't have to pay them as much - if you want to work with less risk of being cancelled - Maxim is your game. They are really low hassle to deal with once you are in.

All about staffing to my knowledge only staffs HCA facilities. They pay VERY VERY well for contracted positions. They may be staffing other facilities now as well, but last time I checked it was strictly HCA.

I have never dealt with the other agencies.

Re: MSN and intellistaff DFW agency

While it is true maxim may have you working when the others don't... The Ft Worth office has a horrible rep for lying to clients about you. I cant count the number of maxim nurses that i have talked to ,including myself that have been lied on. Like I called in about 5 hours before my shift and I had horrible diarrhea and vomiting. They kept saying "oh you'll feel better call me in a couple hours I'm sure you will be fine". I told them over and over I'm not going in.. They called the facility and told them I was coming but would be late....This is a facility that I went to 4-5 days a weeks and they made me look incompetent and a fool. They have done this to several people I know. As far as the pay ..well most of the facility' s staff makes more than the agency nurse if you go through maxim. They also charge you 5 dollars to get daily pay and then only give you 70% of it.... I recently changes over to Nursefinders and will be starting with Nurse staffing. My advise to the OP bypass Maxim unless you like to play preschool games...
