I worked staff for 8 years, took about 2 months off then went agency and have never looked back! This is my 3rd yr with agency. We are our own boss. I have found in my area that this time of year is always slow and I know it so I just plan for that. I am sure it isn't for everyone but for me it took my stress level down to zip compared to what it was with staff. All of the reasons in previous posts tell the story. so, stressedlpn, you have made the best decision you will ever make! Good Luck and Have Fun!

Thanks yall for sharing all, it has been a month now and I must say I LOVE working agency, i have never had so much flexability in scheduling, i took this week off because my daughter is home with the pink eye, guess what i didnt have to clear it with anyone i havent missed not one of her cheerleading games all month i just dont work on those days, not to mention the money i only have to work two days and make the same amount of money i would be making working all week. my kids love the fact that i am home more, and guess what I just found out i am pregnate!!! At this moment in time my life is going really well. except for the invasion of worthless in laws that have invaded my house hahah thanks againg for all the advice and support.

Ive worked agency for the last two years. I will never go on staff again. As the nurse said, the stress level drops to zero. The agency works for me. I tell them when I want to work. RN's in many areas are getting $40-$50 per hour now.
