This agency does their staffing overseas, it is not what would be referred to as agency nursing in the US. Agency nursing in the US is a term given to working per diem (one day assignments) or possibly some longer term, but nothing like what you are talking about it. They are providing you with work in the US.

I personally have never heard of them, nor has anyone contacted me about them before.

Just make sure that everything is spelled out in its entirety in your contract.
Such as what happens if you need to cancel your contract in the middle because of an ill parent back at home, etc. Some of these can be about $20,000 US that you could be responsible for....Also, do you get a guaranteed city/state or just have to go where they tell you to at the last minute?

Have they promised a green card in 4 to 6 months? If so, run as fast as you can from them. No such thing..........Have they promised a temporary work permit in just weeks? Again, no such thing..........

All I can say is be careful, I do not know of this agency, but have seen hundreds from other companies and many are quit scary. Just do your homework. And if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Re: GlobeMed Resources LLC (GlobeMed) VA

Hi,
I am a nurse recruited by globemed resources VA. Do not sign any contracts with them. They are exploiters and right now almost all major hospital chains have broken their contracts with globemed due to multiple labor cases filed against globemed by nurses who were hired through them.
They hire at very low hourly rates of max $ 23 / hour (even experienced specialist MSN nurses ) and sell you to hospital at double or higher the amount. Going rate of BSN nurses is normally $44/hour in most US states for level 1 nurse.
And their contracts are lengthy-3 years with a bond amount of US $ 30,000 which is ridiculous. No other contract agency has this long a contract. Max is 18 months but they nail you for 36 months and basically rape you without any promotions or salary increments.
Thanks

Re: Facts about Globemed

Hi Rajni,
You definitely have no knowledge of Globemed. None of the nurses from India are happy here. If they are saying "they are fine" means they are just ashamed of telling everyone that they are trapped by Globemeds false promises and are working as pseudo-slaves. Ask any Tenet Hospital nurse in South Carolina where a lot had come from India and you will know that :
1.) Most of them are "On Call" at $4.0 per hour (yes 4 bucks an hour) and they don't even get 40 hours a week to work. Think how much they are making in a week?? RockHills Tenet center had hired 13 nurses from India and except three nurses rest are all on call nurses. They have the green card which is their only reward.
2.) The nurses have been thrown so much red tape for promotions from level 1 to level 2 that you would be discouraged. It is a deliberate mechanism so you keep working at lower level all three years.
3.) The salary increments of Tenet from level 1 to level 2 is 1-2% a year. This is a puny amount for increments.
4.) Most of them are now leaving globemed and have prepared to file labor cases against Tenet and Globemed on the basis of labor exploitation laws.
5.) On the tenet meeting last week with India nurses, the human resources director of tenet categorically said " No more business with globemed in near future"
6.) Globemeds VP Indian-Ops Mr Ramkumar sent an email two weeks ago which mentions " What went wrong- why have all hospitals in US cancelled our contracts and business deals? we should keep the Indian pride and blah blah blah"
7.) Most of the nursing agencies in USA were sent copies of emails transmitted between the investigative reporter (who cracked this) and the VP of Globemed Paul Nimitz. ANA and CNA etc all know of this as NurseGate Scandal.
Girls here don't want to spit out the truth because people will laugh at them. So they say its all fine :-)
And this is no hatemail. Ask these nurses after quoting from my reply ;-) and you shall be enlightened

Thanks
