Red face First day as an agency nurse

Well, yesterday was my first day as an agency nurse, and my head is still spinning from trying to learn all the new ways that different hospitals work.I have been an LPN since 1988,and went right back to work at a nursing home, where i had been working as a CNA,and i worked there for 6 years, only doing treatments, meds, dressings, ect Then i had to quit because of my husbands illness,I didn't work for2 years,Then he got a little better,I went to work at a mental health service.I worked for 3 years,Then he got very ill,and had his leg amputated.Well,i had to quit to take care of him,for 3 years. He got better,I started my first job ,working in a hospital, and learning lots of new, things.then,No kidding,he got very ill,and was transfered to ahospital, out of town, and my probation period,3 mo,was not up and i had to quit again,He is better so i am doing agency work. The hospital i worked for wanted me to start blood on a patient ,and the hospital i worked for before ,The RN's did it.Idid not know how. They seemed irritated with that.I think i will like this once i get used to it

I feel for you! I've worked in a subacute and postpartum *with med/surg gyn patients*. Tonight is my first night as staffing in a med/surg unit and I'm so nervous, I'll let ya know how my nite goes!
