In a Clinic?

Hi,
I'm a fairly new LVN. And an agency just hired me today, but wanted to pay me 14/hr to work in a clinic. I do have no experience in a clinic and they were going to lie and told them I had experience. I decided that 14/hr is reasonable if a clinic hires you themselves. But through an agency?
I can't even live on that. I live in southern california. So I said no.
Do you think that all agencies pay that little? Or was that one trying to screw me?

Doesn't sound like it's just the pay they're trying to screw you out of. If the agency lies, and the agency-user finds out you have no experience, they MIGHT take it out on the agency, but the agency will not fess up that they were the ones that lied, they'll say "oh we didn't know, SHE told us....."

Not to mention the fact that they were going to lie says buckets about their work ethic.

Re: In a Clinic?

Thanks. That makes me feel better. I didn't really want to work for an agency yet because I am a fairly new nurse. She made it sound like they'd train me and stuff on the phone. But I got there today, and it was a whole different story. I felt relief when I said no.
