Re: Which agencies are the best?

As an LPN- I have worked for Maxim in Canton, OH and signed with MSN out of Akron. Loved Maxim- never took a single call from MSN.They would call for shifts I had already taken with Maxim or call for something way far out of my area. I actually work for Maxim doing homecare now.

Re: Which agencies are the best?

I have found that Maxim is the agency that treats me the best. I have great schedulers and they make me feel like I am valued as an employee. That is something that I think is key in choosing an agency.

Re: Which agencies are the best?

Hey All,
I've worked for a few agencies in MD. Check out Ascerta Health Staffing at ascertahealth.com. Great people, very responsive, good rates, knowledgable about the current market and the industry overall. They offer an easy online application process too. Best of luck to all!

Re: Which agencies are the best?

CALIFORNIA AGENCY!
I am considering to start working for an agency called Medi-Lend Nursing Services based in Oakland, CA... They do however staff in southern CA aswell(RN, LVN, CNA's) out of Long Beach, UCLA, USC etc. I have not started working for them so I cannot give you more details yet.

I was actually wondering if anyone has heard of them(MEDI LEND). They offer great pay. $600 for a 12 hour shift, and double time after 12. The best part is that half that income is not taxable since they pay it as a housing fund... If anyone has heard of them pls give me some feedback.

Re: Which agencies are the best?

I'm in Wisconsin and have been reading all the threads I can about agency nursing. I'm having problems finding staff nursing positions where I am for LPN's for whatever reason and currently am out of a job, and in need of having a job soon. I had my resume up on various sites and Ally Staffing Partners called me and I have an interview with them tomorrow afternoon. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of them or worked for them (even if it's not in Wisconsin). I have seen Maxium's name come up a few times, but here in Wisconsin they haven't really gotten good responses (or so I have heard), however I do think it depends on the person's wants and needs.

So far they told me that they would offer a range between $25-$50/hr (but this wage also includes RN's, which I am not). The lady I talked to said we will go into what agency nursing is and what I can expect from them. I'm hoping this is a good sign and this means they are going to be detailed.

Any advice, suggestions, stories?

Re: Which agencies are the best?

I work for Medix in the Chicagoland area and the staff has been wonderful. They work hard to find the type of work you want and don't pressure you into taking a shift that you do not want to work. I have worked with other agencies and I like them the best.

Re: Which agencies are the best?

I have been a nurse for 24 years and have worked as a staff nurse in a variety of areas, both in hospitals and physician's offices. I had been a nurse for 5 years before I did agency. I think that you need to work for one year before you can do agency because you have to develop nursing assessment and procedure skills, like IV's, foleys, NG's etc. first.
