hello - i am currently in nursing school, and will graduate in december :hatparty: i have just been offered (and accepted) a position in a critical care internship with the emphasis in the burn center. i'm excited and a little apprehensive. can anyone tell me some things to expect and anything i can do from now until then to better prepare myself for the position? thanks!!
Learn all about pain medications and pain management. Learn the healing processes of burns, learn all your labs (electrolytes, etc). Go to that unit and shadow a nurse as often as you can. Learn to do dressings, learn about the psychological aspect of burn patient care.... that's a start. Be well and good luck!
