What is the strangest family phone call you've received?

We all get phone calls from family members..."my 45 year old son has asthma, is he getting his inhaler?" Well, I received a phone call from a Dad a few weeks ago. His son had surgery and was released from custody with a 3 day supply of meds. He was calling to say his son needed more of his meds...the son had been released from custody 2 weeks prior! He was pretty insistent and I had to explain to him that we do not continue care after release. Wow!

Re: What is the strangest family phone call you've received?

I had a 46 yo male with a very large hydrocele. He had convinced his elderly hillbilly mother that it was testicular cancer and that he was refused treatment. She would call and say, " Na ma sun hase balltasticle kayntser, he done showed me how beeg it wuz inth veesit booth. Hes gonna die!" She would call outside doctors all over the area and they would call to checkout her story. The inmate died shortly after release in a high speed chase. He crashed the car and then ran on foot and jumped in the river to try to swimm away and drowned.
