Well, I survived my first day on the job, and it was most interesting. We had a lot of excitement for a monday. Loved the guy who got his butt cheeks bitten by the LEO dog as he was trying to run away.. (HeeHee)
and saw the crude attempt to jailhouse Tat's... an inmate told me they use a staple and melt hair jel with a melted checker piece (still don't know how they get 'ink" from a melted piece of plastic.....) but he has many of these tat's with his 2 newest on the way to a nice infection

so tell me experianced nurses: what do they use and how are they making these tatoo's??

ink from pens-thats why CO's and nurses keep a close eye on our pens, and the inmates are only allowed to write with pencils. i think sometimes they also get hold of food dye from the kitchen.

Decided to check this out with my inmate detail. She says that the use inks from pens and colored markers and colored pencils which the inmates can purchase off of commisary. Yhey also have arts and craft classes and they have been known to boost the supplies. I know it's hard to belive that their are thieves in prison, say it isn't so. They can also get sewing needles from the CO's for use and that is their delivery device. If the nurses are carless in diabetic line, they will palm a lancet. They also try to have their families smuggle in piercing or tattooing equipment. They will crush their colored pencils to use as cosmetics ie as eyeshadow, mix with clear fingernail polish to color the eye polish, mix it with lip balm for lipstick. They use their powdered drink mix and use it as hair tint. they are ingenious lil darlings, where there is a will there is a way. Working in a female prison, they can buy limited cosmetics ( I know why, but they want to boost their self esteem) and they will use or misuse anything
