Safety needles/IV Catheters ?

Hi all,

Does anyone out there know if the prisons in California stock safety needles/syringes? I am considering getting into correctional nursing and the hospitals here are required to supply only safety needles/IV catheters. I think they probably cost more and wonder if the prisons stock them. If not, how do you all feel working without them? I like to think I'm careful but accidents can happen and the safetys really help.
