Re: PLEASE don't do it!

My secretery would call our trustee down on the weekends when she would come in to catch up on her filing. The nurse would be out on med pass, so everyone knew not to bring any of the i/m to be seen while she was out on med pass. The sec. and the trustee would have about an hour that noone checked on anything to do what they wanted to. I heard thru the i/m grape line that the dental chair was a hot spot!!! YUK!!!

Re: PLEASE don't do it!

There is a saying we use in the ER. You can't fix stupid. You can treat the symptoms and the traumas after the fact, but you can't fix the root of the problem stupidity! Keep in mind for those of you that don't or have not worked in corrections, that these men spend a great deal of time lifting weights. Alot of them are really good looking, but yuk they are inmates. Some women have very low self images and the inmates really play on it. Sad but true. If I could not do better than that I think I would start hitting for the other team. LOL
TBH

OK, I had to go on this website to see it with my own two eyes.

After reading some of the profiles I felt like I was at work. There was a lot of:

"I have been convicted of a crime I didn't commit with absolutely no evidence" REEEEEALY

"I did this when I was young and stupid and now I have changed" Murder? what?

Geez. I can't believe some people fall for this.

It also amazes me how many are asking for "real people" "no games".

I also had to quote this one bc I nearly died laughing reading it:

"I'm a man with the most highest pedigree."
and at the end he says "
I have little over 2 years, and I'll be free. I have a non violent bank robbery. Totally rehabilitated."

I guess this is why I enjoy my job, being constantly entertained by the things that come out of the i/m's mouths

AMEN!! to the things that come out of IM mouths. I can't COUNT the # of IM who arrive at the cell door, shaking, crying, "You can't put me in there with them, I'm INNOCENT!!!!" My standard reply? "Gentlemen in the tank!! Can I have a show of hands?? How many of you are innocent?? (22 out of 24 hands go up) "see, you ARE in the right place--they're innocent, too"

The obvious theme here is that this NEVER ends well. Has anyone ever seen anyone marry or continue a relationship after she's fired and they live happily ever after? I'll eat my hat.
Actually I have. I know a nurse that married an inmate after he was released. He had trouble finding decent paying jobs but he was very diligent. He was also frustrated. He worked a day labor place at this company and they liked him so much that the permament guys spoke highly to their boss and they hired him. It's a pretty good job and they have been together 7 years now (happily) and this is a guy who was in and out of prison for almost 10 years. But I tried to tell my friend that this is not the norm nor is it a standard.

Re: PLEASE don't do it!

Well CST wannabe like I said it's not the norm. These relationships mostly end in a hot mess moreso for the nurse involved. I always tell newbies not to do this because it's not worth it.
