I use to work as an correctional officer at NCCIW and now pursing registered nursing. I just want to get the jump on the prisons in raleigh nc. How is the work environment? Are there enough senior nurses on staff to help new grad nurses entering the prisons? What ever info you can tell me would be greatful.

I wish someone had answered you. I applied for a prison in NC. Not Raleigh, but i'd kind of like to go there. The pay sure stinks. Seems like an unusually sress-free job for prison nursing, though. I'll let you know if I'm hired --- actually have been hired twice already, but always turn it down and take a travel job. This time, I'm doing it!
