Talking Correctional Nursing Education

I am trying to find out where and what people are using to keep up in the multi-facited world of correctional nursing. What are people doing for CEU's, education etc...

I use online nurse websites all the time. I especially look for free offerings, and they are out there. The big drug company websites like Baxter also have free stuff that is not all about medication. I am a nurse educator, and I compile a "Continuing Education Resource Guide" every few months for my staff with all the latest websites, a brief summary of what is there, and I also look for home study courses for those without computers. My favorite sites are nursingspectrum.com and nursecenter.com.
I also get on mailing lists for local universities that have nursing education offerings, and the big medical center in town for continuing ed for both nursing, and also the community. I post this stuff on education bulletin boards for my staff.
I subscribe to a good nursing journal, and have joined this discussion group to broaden my exposure! I also develop and offer onsite inservices for CE credit ( our DOC is an approved provider for CEs )- I am just starting to do Power Point for presentations. I attend any offered free inservices like teleconferences at our DOC admin. facility downtown when I know in advance, and I try to go to a "Women in Criminal Justice" seminar at our local community college each May. I wish I had the money to attend the national DOC conferences like NCCHC, etc. Someday I will, though!
