I have been working in a women's detention facility since Dec 06 and when I came in there it was a total mess. I had never worked in corrections before, but it really wasn't hard to get use to. The problem was that the Administrator had no managerial skills, and definately had no B _ _ _ _. The corporation would not even let my overseeing physician have inputs on anything. Anyway - I found out that they hired a new practitioner for the east campus (that is where I was). I started putting two and two together and asked the right questions to the right people and found out that management was getting ready to terminate me without just cause. So before they could do it, I resigned and they were furious and wanted to know how I knew. From what I understand my surpervising MD really took some hard licks because of this. I just hope I did the right thing. I really liked my job, I worked well with the nurses, guards, and even the inmates. I have so much anger and frustration. Needless to say, no one from mgmt, or corporate has contacted me at all. I even looked in my personnel file and there were discrepancies what so ever and I have never been disciplined for anything, so I think that is why I am so angry and confused.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Sorry to vent on my first thread. Just needed other nurses view on the matter
