I am from NFLD, currently living in Ontario. Trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in St John's at the General Hospital in class of '66. Went back to school 20 years later and graduated from last 21/2 year RN Diploma course at Humber College in 1987. Have travelled and worked in the middle east and am still employed full time but have slowed down to nightshift on a LTC floor.
Hi
Any problems with getting Canada to recognise your education from other countries?
No. None whatsoever. I'm sure that if I ever ventured into the PhD world (not too likely at this point in time) I'd probably have to upgrade some courses. Employers have not had any issues, nor have the other schools.
Wow, more Newfies on the board!
I graduated from GHSN in 1995 (I grew up in St. John's). Moved to Texas that summer and have lived in TX, NM, NH, MD and now NJ. I finished my BSN here in the US and just finished my MSN in Nurse Anesthesia.
