Any Canadian nurses willing to help me? I would like to know if canadian experience is a must for international nurses to appear for CRNE?Which books are the best to study for CRNE.

Have you read any of the information in the other threads on that subject that you can find in this forum? I'm sure I read in one of the others that BC requires a certain number of hours of supervised experience obtained in Canada before they will provide a practice permit, but I dont remember if that was before or after the permission for the CRNE... There are other posts that talk about the best review books too. Look at the top right side of your screen; see the Google Custom Search box? Type in "CRNE review" and see what you get. Then type in "Canadian experience required" and see what you get. If that doesn't answer your questions, or you have new ones, then come back.

hello there,
i'm registered to take the october 2008 crne here, and from the forms they've sent me with the instructions, it's written down that you don't need to work/use you interim permit, it's your choice if you want to use it before/after you take the exam
yes you do need a certain number of hours but that is for you to register i think, so that you wont need to go on interim even though you've passed the crne, i think you'll need 250 hours (but im not too sure.)

other job options for RN

Iam a new immigrant to BC.MY file at CRNBC expired before I could get my visa to get here.Now I have to start from all the procedures again which a I believe it will take a long time .Is there anyway of getting a job in health care or anything which does not require licence to practice so that I can stay in touch with my experience and earn my living.

About the only option open to you is to apply for nursing assistant jobs. There are lots of them out there, but the pay isn't particularly great. On the other hand you'd be in a position to learn about how Canada does things while you're waiting for your CRNE.

I was told by the CRNBC that if you let the college know before your application assessment expired (which is 2 years) that you wanted an extension then they would not close your file and you would not have to start over again. But you would have to pay an additional fee. And yes for those of you who have wondered about the practice experience completion.... I was told that you could take the CRNE before completing the 250 supervised practice hours but in order to complete registration you would have to do that practice experience first. The registration is like licensure in other countries.

Hi everyone, anything you can tell me about my querry would be greatly appreciated. I am currently here in the UK but have decided to move to BC. I have applied to take the CRNE on October 2008, and has agreed with my Canadian employer that I want to pass this test first before uprooting from UK. My questions are: IS There any other CRNE reviewers published aside from the Prep Guide of CNA? I have about over two weeks of days annual leave before the test date, Can I attend a review center in Vancouver if I go there early, and if there is any, can anyone tell me where, or who? Where in Vancouver exactly is the test center so I can book my hotel and plan my stay? Thank you very much. Any comment, feel free.
