A Kentucky law designed to assure patients more choices of healthcare professionals is facing Supreme Court scrutiny, and the case has nationwide implications for insurers and HMOs. Directly at stake in the Supreme Court's ruling are laws known as "any willing provider" statutes, adopted by Kentucky and five other states.
