According to the Daily Oklahoman, the nurse lost his license in February of 2003. There was a settlement for $25 million in the case.

Re: Nurse anesthetist re-used needles at Norman clinic, report states

It seems to me that, long ago, when I didn't know enough to question it, when I was so new at my own job or maybe I was even still a student, that I vaguely recall that Anesthesia would have common syringes of various meds that they used on most/all cases and would use them on more than 1 patient. I can't be certain that they did. Maybe they gave these meds to the same patient more than once during that patient's case and then discarded them. But I do recall seeing syringes lined up on the A cart, ready for use. Wish I could clearly recall but it's been more than 3 decades.

As for this guy, he sounds like a sociopath. Hopefully, he never killed anyone but it's bad enough that he apparently infected them with very serious illnesses. I hope no state ever lets him work again. Respondeat superior - is that why Dr. Lewis is also banned/charged? yes, it's too bad about the hospital, as it, most likely, never had any idea that this horrible practice was occurring. Deep pockets. God, help us all.
