Patients SHOULD be educated about their options for care, especially when hospitalized or receiving wound care. Medicare has strict regs that it's PATIENTS choice of provider. Nurses should be able to give patients staff directory with listing of infectious disease doctors in the area if patients express qualm/problems getting to this particular provider.
