Unhappy Don't Trust DEFACS, to Protect Abused Kids..

Here is yet another case, where a child was sent back to live in a dangerous home...and wound up dead.....just too terrible and sad, for words.

This makes me think that these kids would be better off in well-run state orphanages than waiting for available foster homes. Anything but back home with their idiot parents.

So very sad indeed.

Seeing the title of this thread made me think. When we report to DCP we are told that we did the right thing and then any attempts to follow up or find out what action is being done is thawarted. As, we have "rightly turned it over to the 'experts' and they will handle it from here"

The things I am told is that if something doesn't get done it is because they investigated and the did all that could be done.

I am told be a good little girl and let it go. It is out of my hands etc etc.

Yet, we know full well from reports history etc that protective services does not do that great a job. We know they are over worked and understaffed and carry huge case loads. We know horrible things happen under the umbrella of protective services.

Don't ever try to get any info about a case you reported. In fact you are supposed to keep you nose completely out of it now.

Why are nurses and other concerned people treated this way. The excuse is privacy.

Since when is abuse or pontential abuse a private matter. This thinking goes back to more barbaric days. OR WERE THEY ANYMORE BARBARIC than the way we deal with this today.

The problem with this is we are dealing with the gov. and the justice system backes the protective agencies
