Wanting to talk to Forensic Nurses

by kdc_89

I am an RN working in Dallas, Tx. I am moving to Little Rock, Ar in the spring. I am extremely interested in Forensic Nursing....but don't exactly know where to start...or who to talk to. I would love to talk to some Forensic nurses about their experiences. I am very interested in finding out the need for Forensic nurses...could I get a lot of work? I have so many questions. Please anyone with any advice or help get back to me if you can. Thank you in advance for your time.

Hello, kdc 89 and welcome to the Forensic Nursing forum

Check out these threads. Will give you some idea of the career path.

How Do I Become a Forensic Nurse/Role of the Forensic Nurse

Forensic Nursing - Is it For You?

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - SANE

You might check with the coroner in the area and see if you could do some volunteer work in preparation of an educative pathway. Some of the hospitals employ forensic nurses in their EDs as well.

I gather you are interested in certification/certificate or degree in forensics?

Good luck to you.
