Anyone taking any additional classes this semester? - Aug 16, '11 by yisy4uI'm taking 2 classes to get my mind off the long wait! Nutrition and Intro to sociology. Even though I don't think that 2 classes will help me much with that.
- Aug 16, '11 by AlexLLhi everyone, i'm new to allnurses i just applied to the rn generic program i took the teas yesterday got a 74% and i have a 3.6 science gpa (12 credits), anyone know how they determine who gets in? well best of luck to everyone
- Aug 16, '11 by yisy4uHi AlexLL!
Welcome to the thread!
The Selection Criteria is:
1. Scores on the TEAS Test (60%) &
2. Natural Sciences GPA (40%)
So with your scores:
Teas 74 * 0.6= 44.4
GPA 3.6 * 10 = 36
your Total would be: 80.4
- Aug 16, '11 by AlexLLWow Yisy thank you, so much I read you got an 82 TEAS score and a 4.0 GPA great job I'm almost 100% sure your getting accepted do you happen to know how many students have applied and how many they will accept? I'm really worried to see a rejection letter in the mail. I feel like I worked so hard to get in and this 2 month waiting period isn't helping...lol
- Aug 16, '11 by yisy4uThanks AlexLL! I'm pretty confident that I will be accepted, but until I see that letter I won't get excited!

By the way! don't expect your acceptance letter in the mail. They are now sending them through email.
About how many students have applied so far I cannot tell, but I once heard that they accept around 90, sometimes 100-150 students out of a pool of 1000. However, I don't know if this is info it's accurate or not! I've also heard that in the spring less ppl apply to the program. It may be because they don't offer the part time program in january. Anyways, I think you will be fine! Last time they accepted students with lower scores than yours, so keep your hopes up!!!
- Aug 16, '11 by AlexLLWow I was reading the thread MDC Fall 2011 it was nerve racking to follow the posts from the users from the point of application to the point of acceptance or rejection. It basically comes down to the top 100 I just hope all of us on this thread get accepted I look forward to working with everyone maybe even forming study groups. If everything goes well I hope to apply to the Baptist Scholar Program, in that only 50 students get accepted from what they told me.
- Aug 17, '11 by Faith1218Quote from AlexLLI hope we all do too! It's disappointing to be rejected, but have faith, you seem to have a good foot on the door.Wow I was reading the thread MDC Fall 2011 it was nerve racking to follow the posts from the users from the point of application to the point of acceptance or rejection. Good luck! - Aug 17, '11 by madarmesHello all! I also just dropped my application for the MDC nursing program for spring. I applied for generic FT and Bridge FT to increase my chances. I have a 3.5 science GPA and I got an 81% on my TEAS! I am really hoping this will be enough. As far as how many ppl applied the lady showed me the list last week, it had been about 60 ppl, but she said the last two weeks before the deadline is crunch time and that is usually when they all drop their applications. I wish good luck to everyone. By any chance does anyone know how the calculate the scores between the GPA and TEAS. I keep seeing ppl showing scores like 81 out of 100 but i have no idea how they get that number!
