They have changed the prerequisites from chemistry to math classes. And it's possible that they are adding microbiology into the mix as well. -

- Sep 27, '12 by benincasaQuote from sweetfMath and Micro are being used for students who are new to Broward College for the Fall 2012 term and beyond. Those students who are currently enrolled Broward students who have been enrolled without any breaks in enrollment have the old pre-requisites. It is stated on the pre-req sheet online:Math and Microbiology will not be a pre req until fall of 2013, it should not effect us.
Currently enrolled Broward College students:
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the following prerequisite courses: ENC1101, BSC 2085, BSC 2085L, BSC 2086, BSC 2086L, CHM1032. Students must earn a grade of C or better in all pre-requisite courses to be eligible to apply. HCP 0001 and A2 HESI Test are required.
Nursing applicants who have not broken catalog who are admitted for the January and May 2013 cohorts will not need to meet general education math requirement (area 5) and Microbiology (MCB2010&L) requirement. CHM1032 will remain a required pre-requisite.
Students that are NEW or Re-Entry to the college:
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the following prerequisite courses: ENC1101, BSC 2085, BSC 2085L, BSC 2086, BSC 2086L, *including a general education math course (Area 5) and MCB2010 Microbiology, and MCB2010L (Chemistry is a pre-requisite to MCB2010). If you did that is why your status shows denied pending department approval. I used a license I have to waive it and mine says the same thing. I called and asked. Admissions does not approve the waivers anymore and they have to be sent to the RN department for approval.I think it has to do with hosa then.. mine shows denied-pending dept approval.. but its been like that since i turned my app in and the health admissions person told me it would say that until the nursing dept reviewed my hs transcript and finalized/approved the hosa... let us know what they say when u go in..Last edit by benincasa on Sep 27, '12 : Reason: added quote

You know before they changed the website I actually did one of those surveys for the website and told them how bad it was, because they put so much conflicting information. At one point they showed that the website had not been updated for 2 years, with old email addresses and phone numbers that didn't even work.
All the information an institution provides should be the same all around, at the very least for legal purposes!Getting To Great likes this. - Sep 27, '12 by levzahav9Also, I spoke to Advisor Elizabeth Kenealy from North Campus and I asked her if I had to apply to all three campuses for the nursing program for a better chance to get in. She said that it doesn't matter where you apply for the program because it's one school, and you still get to choose which campus you want to go to during registration. A nursing student at BC central campus said the same thing.
Has anyone seen the different facilities? Would you choose one campus over another?
