I go to Broward college and the classes at Broward college and HCC are the same - Jun 9, '11 by KatertotHi,
I also have a question for anyone attending or who attended Keiser. How did you pay for things like rent, car payments, food etc while in clinicals? The school strongly encourages not working (though if it is the only way to go I will have to do it), but the school is so expensive. Were you able to get loans to cover these expenses, on top of school costs? I used Richland for my last semester there and had no issues, but at that time I was working full time. Thanks in advance.
PS...I am scheduled to start clinicals Jan 2012 and am freaking out about paying for everything!Last edit by Katertot on Jun 9, '11 : Reason: forgot to include details - Jun 9, '11 by orlandochQuote from Katertotis richland based on credit score, if so .. what was your credit score at the time u applied ?Hi,

just wanna have an idea .. i think i will get money from grants and federal loan, but probably gonna private loan as well - Jun 12, '11 by KatertotWhen I asked if Richland was based on score I was told no...the school made it sound like it is a promised loan if Sallie Mae or Wells Fargo declined me (which they did...I have a repo on my record from 6 years ago, but have another car loan I have been paying on for over a year, so I am in the process of rebuilding my credit). I am not sure what my score was at that time. But I am not sure what amount you can borrow up to, which is what worries me, and the school has been very hard to get in touch with to inquire.
- Jun 12, '11 by orlandochdidnt u just say that you used ritchland for your last semester ? therefore you got approved .. my situation is different thatn yours since im older than 24, therefore independent and without a job so i can get free grants .. which im getting now at broward college
I am also able to get federal loans, but I think even with that I will still need a private loan
I'm more than sure that Sallie mae and Wells fargo will reject me, therefore ritchland is the only one that could approve me
Maybe ritchard is based on credit history ? time ? How much did u get from richland ? did u get everything to cover the schools cost ? I think is around 7000, right ?
my situation is different since i live with my parents and i have no debts I dont have to worry about extra money to cover my expenses - Jun 13, '11 by KatertotI only used Richland for a small loan, $2000. The loan I will be needing for 2012 is much more than that, so who knows if I will get approved again. Big difference between $2000 annd over $30k. I am ineligible for grants, Pell, etc due to income. I will be eligible for the federal loans that pretty much everyone is entitled to, but that is still not enough, hence the reason for my first post. I wanted to see if anyone else was in my situation and made it through. But to answer your question, I only took one class last semester, which was about $2000, and Richland covered that (I am currently paying on it monthly). I do not know what my score was at that time, but the school told me it was a "last resort loan" since credit did not matter. But, keep in mind I also have an income to back up the loan, and that may have been a factor. It's been hard getting answers or even in touch with someone at the school right now, to the point I have applied at other schools as a fall back.
- Jun 30, '11 by lyanezI finished my pre-reqs May 2011 at a community college, passed my TEAS test, went thru the Nursing Interview with the Program Director, and finally did my financial aid appointment 2 days ago. Everything has gone smoothly so far, all I have left is a one week orientation at the end of July, and I'll start the program August 29th, here at the Port St. Lucie campus!
- Jul 11, '11 by BitalHello, I'm looking for a use study guide to take the TEAS at Keiser. Anyone who would like to sell it?
- Jul 14, '11 by mimuaAnyone attending Keiser U in Sarasota? Please let me know your experience. I'm currently trying to get in. I wonder how it works for the financial aid.
Thank you for anyone who gives their side.
