University of Miami Accelerated BSN Program

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi there! I received my acceptance letter for the Summer 2011 Accelerated BSN Program at UM. I was just wondering if anyone who is already in this program could give me some insight on how they like it. Some of my main questions are is it possible to work part-time throughout the program, and is it difficult to obtain scholarships, etc.? I am from Miami, but I currently live in Ohio, so I have been going back and forth as to whether I should stay here or go back to where it's sunny. :) Anyhow, if anyone who is going through the program or has heard anything about the program has any info they can give me, it would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS!

I do not know why I received a credit evaluation. Their website states that credit evaluations are just given to students that have been accepted, but I have not received any decision letter yet. I wish you luck.. are you applying to other schools? I cannot wait to know if I have been admitted or not. let's keep waiting.

you may have been accepted then already! did you check your myum website? some people have said they found out they were accepted not by a letter but by their myum or other things like that. i would call and find out and let us know. im sooo nervous! i need to hear from them!

A FB group is only useful for students who are definitely attending UM. Yeah, sounds like a jinx move to me if you create one beforehand! :D

once we get our letters its on like donkey kong:cool:

I checked the website, but I do not see anything. I am nervous too... good luck! I will keep you posted :)

Definitely do. I literally will be on this website everyday so I will keep everyone updated as well as to anything I hear

i emailed the undergrad admissions office today to ensure that my application wasnt held up for any reason due to my current college taking FOREVER to send my academic, judiciary records and i was told some good and bad news

the good news is...acceptance letters for the bsn program are being sent on a weekly basis. so they are going in order of how they received the applications im assuming as opposed to sending them all out at the last second

the bad news is...acceptance letters for the program are being sent on a weekly basis...lol. so basically no specific timing. she told me to be patient with their review process.:anbd::anbd: lol

I just spoke to someone today and they say they are printing decision letters between today and tomorrow. Hopefully we will know soon..

i hope so too but...i was just talking to another person who has been through this process already and they said they typically dont start accepting "regular" admission decision students until one week after the app deadline...i hope thats not true....lol...i guess we will see!!

I got accepted to the program as well! I found out the 2nd week in December! Good Luck to everyone! My plan is accelerated bsn straight into FPMSN

What I have heard is that the review application in the order they receive them,

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

I thought early decision deadline was Dec 1 .. I guess I was mistaken. And I must admit I did sit on the application for a while before sending it in. Had I known there would be a rolling admissions process I would have jumped on this one. I noticed people applied as early as last spring, wow. I would have done that. Then again, I did not really consider Miami until @ Sept. To be honest, Miami is not one of my top choices especially since the cost is astronomical. I would only go to Miami if I were to get a substantial financial award. If it's meant to be, it will happen. Wait and see ...

The early decision deadline was dec 1st, but the regular decision deadline is mar 1st for both the summer and fall program. I applied as soon as I found out um had a Bsn program. I had no clue, it never came up on the websites when I searched Bsn, otherwise I would have applied way in advance as well.

Izopata, you never mentioned when you sent your application in...?
