University of Miami Accelerated BSN Program

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi there! I received my acceptance letter for the Summer 2011 Accelerated BSN Program at UM. I was just wondering if anyone who is already in this program could give me some insight on how they like it. Some of my main questions are is it possible to work part-time throughout the program, and is it difficult to obtain scholarships, etc.? I am from Miami, but I currently live in Ohio, so I have been going back and forth as to whether I should stay here or go back to where it's sunny. :) Anyhow, if anyone who is going through the program or has heard anything about the program has any info they can give me, it would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS!

3.54 undergrad, 4.0 nursing pre reqs (a&p,bio, chem, etc.) and one class outstanding. I got accepted 3 months after applying, which makes me think I was waitlisted (I applied on the deadline day). I know other people were accepted with lower gpa's and several pre req courses still outstanding.

HI EVERYONE! I was just accepted to an accelerated program at JU and a regular program at FGCU. I just don't know which to do. For those of you who have done the ABSN at UM is there any advice you can give me? I don't know where to go to school! Thank you!!

Specializes in MICU.

So kanders10, now that you've graduated from UM, was going there worth it? I'm thinking of going there buy weighing having to take out loans to do it or go to MDC.

Would love to hear from you. Feel free to email me at joshsc AT hotmail DOT com

Months))* ($ ________amount of tuition paid to student)]

Thank you very much for all your help!:nurse:

I just completed my packet and someone told me to enter 41,000. I am applying for January 2013 and she told me that they are only going to accept 3 people. WOW! Good luck.

Do you know if accepted Spring 2013 students are able to apply to the ABSN Scholarship?

The website states a deadline of February for May and August classes only, but it does not mention a deadline for the Spring class. I heard that they do not offer the ABSN scholarship for Spring term only for Summer and Fall, that is why the deadline is every February. I was trying to get contacting with recruiter several weeks ago, but have not heard back....so, let me know if you get some imformation about that since I am really interesting in apply for the scholarship. Thanks a good luck!! :bowingpur

Applications for the Accelerated BSN Scholarship Program and all required documents must be received by February 1st. Applications received after February 1st will not be considered. This applies to both May and August classes.

That's correct May and August classes only, but not January. When I was in UM some months ago for paying 300 dollars to admission, I have been told that is only in Summer and that they are only going to accept 3 people. Anyway, I going to make sure the correct information one of these days when I figure out my official acceptance letter in UM or going to Medical Human Resources of UM where is sent the documents and is very close to my house also, so if I find any info new, I'll let you know. Good luck again!

I already applied for January 2013 enrollment and I am very nervous. I called and they said that they will be mailing out letters in the next 2-3 weeks...
