UCF Cocoa Beach/Daytona Spring 2013

U.S.A. Florida

I am a pre-nursing student attending UCF Orlando Campus. I am applying this summer to Cocoa Beach and Daytona Campuses to start Spring 2013! Eeek! I know there have been other forums regarding previous admissions to the program that have helped me to figure where I stand. I thought it would be nice to have a chance to meet each other, talk about our scores, and answer or ask questions regarding the application process!

I emailed Judy on Mon. about them not being able to verify my employment and all she said back was "This will not affect your application. Thank you for letting us know." On a side note I'm actually really excited that they still factor your TEAS scores and GPAs in after the interview, I was kind of curious how that would work. I was originally thinking the scores got you the interview and the interview got you a spot, but I'm glad that's not the case :) Thank you for the info.

I have a question. I know the UCF nursing website doesn't have a class schedule for us starting in the spring, but do you think we would most likely be taking summer classes?

@chavon13 we would definitely be taking summer classes

Okay thanks so much

It's a 5 semester lock-step program that starts in the spring, so we will be taking classes in the spring, summer and fall in 2013 and spring and summer in 2014.

so the students will graduate in summer 2014 not december? so it is actually a year and a half? that is great! :D

Hey, what is everyone doing to prepare for this interview? Is anyone doing a mock interview? Has anyone heard anything about the whole group interview thing?? Im getting so anxious about this whole thing! also just wondering.... how many of you guys are UCF students, I've recently heard this is supposed to have some bearing on acceptance..

I'm also wondering what everyone is doing to prepare! Since this is the first time they're doing interviews, it's hard to know what they're going to ask. And I am a current UCF student!

I was going to do a mock interview. But when I called they said they only do mock interviews for med students. Has anyone else heard the same thing? Oh ya, I'm also a ucf student :)

Yes mc0323 it's only 17 months :)

I thought everyone had to be a UCF student in order to submit an application. Or did mean currently enrolled in classes and/or received their AA from UCF? I haven't heard anything about this affecting our chances of being selected for the program, I thought it was just TEAS, GPA and interview. Has anyone else heard this?

Specializes in Med Surg, PCU, Travel.

I'm used to job interviews but got no idea what to expect for a school interviews, especially this being group interviews make it even weird-er if there was such a word. I am doing nothing to prepare, that will only get me nervous. I am just going to be myself. If they dont like me, so be it. Do I got what it takes Yes...I did search on here for possibly interview questions, did not really find anything.

Yeah you have to be accepted to the college to apply but I meant like currently enrolled in classes at UCF. I have been at UCF for two years (I was a previous science major who found out what I really wanted to do career-wise) but was a transfer from BCC.... See, I dont really know what to think because I have never personally asked them myself, but a lot of my friends who are either in the program, or have applied/ gone to an information session have said that UCF has a certain number of spots for currently enrolled UCF students and a certain number for non-UCF students (and that this number is less)... I have heard this at least 3 or 4 times from different people who say it came directly from advisors and such, but I personally have never heard it from them, not that I asked. I really would like to know for sure as well... hopefully someone else on here could clear this up for us.
