So here's the scoop (as I know it) on my missing invitation. I'm telling you guys because you might actually understand what is invested into getting into this program and how it ties to your dreams and in case anyone else falls in a similar boat.

It seems a few of us on this thread had an issue where we received e-mails saying we were not eligible awhile back. I was one of those. Through Alton Austin I was assured this was straightened out. Well somehow my application got back only into the pool of basic applicants, likely due to another mistake by admissions. Admissions enters things into the system and CON goes by that. According to admissions I have no degree, yet the system shows my transcripts are all there. So I have spoken to 6 people, passed from one to another. Alton who is likely the one who can help me is on vacation until wednesday! I am currently awaiting a call back from admissions. These are the same hoops I jumped through last month when the first mistake was detected and I am rather frusterated at the system to say the least. I am still hopeful they will get it corrected as it was not my mistake. Just makes me wonder how many others might have similar issues. I kind of thought that after the first mistake they may have looked more closely at mine for other mistakes and I really wonder why I would not have been notified again of my ineligibility due to no degree. I am quite certain I have a degree!

I'm so sorry you're going through this and can only imagine your frustration! I was one of the ones that had a similar miscommunication and got it fixed. I'm hoping it works out for the best and you are also selected for an interview. What a nightmare :(

I am so sorry that happened to you. I just about lost it when Ms. Washam told me that my information in the system was an amalgam of two other applicants. I won't say anything bad about them, but I wish the process was a bit smoother. I think I lucked out because I am currently taking classes at UCF (filler ones, so I could be established as a student).

I also had the same problem with the APG petition for a pre-req class- if I got approval from the nursing school, why can't they see it? Keep pushing. You should get a spot in the interviews.

Wow. That's so unbelievable. I'm very sorry you have to deal with this. Stay positive. It will happen. :)

I'm at 8:30/9am as well. The guy on the phone did not give me an option. He just said he is filling the 8:30/9 time slot. I tried to ask him about the process, but he said I'd get more information that morning. I tried to get directions, he said just to Mapquest it.

So, I guess I didn't get the most helpful scheduler. OK, so 100-ish people right, those are pretty good odds actually. Some other candidates might be waiting on letters from other schools, so this might drop.

I can't believe that the scheduler didn't give you the option to pick your preferable interview time.

And talk about being helpful with the directions. :/

Really. I am very discouraged by the way the admission process is going (but this is similar to previous admission problems with UCF) although I am positive about changing my career soon.

When I originally applied to UCF, I was sent confirmation letters 1 week before classes start, with a note that I would not be allowed to apply for classes until I complete orientation, which had already passed. So basically, good luck with that. This happened with two different semesters. I just think the application process at UCF is very trying. That is why I opted to take my last pre-req course and a nursing elective this semester so I wouldn't have to deal with that again.

That's smart on your end. I transferred my credits from New York ( i have a degree in finance) and also decided to take the last pre-reqs at UCF so I could be established In their degree audit system. It's a tiring process I give you that. I haven't had any major problems but it's very easy to lose track of everything,

Btw, we might be in the same group on the day of the interview. I reserved a 9am time.

I pray it all goes smooth. I'm nervous but I was reading on other threads that the first UCF interview that took place for Cocoa and Daytona Beach campuses wasn't so bad and the fact that it is a group interview helps. So, here is to hoping that all goes well. :)

That's helpful. I had not read those. Where did you find those treads? I just wonder how they are going to decide between us, since we are all considered qualified at this point. Everything will go well, I'm sure. :)

Honestly it is ridiculous. Mistakes like that should be few and far between and it sounds like they are far too common. I'm amazed that there were not one but two critical mistakes on my information. How'd they miss the 2nd mistake when they fixed the first and why did I not receive an e-mail saying you are not eligible because ____ so I could have fixed it prior to invites? They say "so sorry". But have no idea the stress we go through during that time. Last time it was about 4 hours. This time since 3pm on thursday and still going.

The thing that is frusterating me now is they told me they will see what they can do but there are only so many appt. times and invites were already sent. I didn't reply so to not sound like a pain, but we all know the interviews are 4-6 people so they can certainly add a person to a group of 4 or 5 with no problem. I assume that is what they will do but hope there is no more red tape. I did my part. It was not my mistake. I also assume at least one person declines the interview because they are going with another program or something.

Connie at CON wasn't very happy to hear about the mistake made and said she would notify someone because it just shouldn't be happening. I agree. It's not a minor mistake. It's a huge life changing mistake for the student involved! Praying I get an answer before the office closes today.

HELLO DEAR FUTURE NURSES!!

After collaborating through private messaging with Gradius (Gradius I hope you don't mind I'm disclosing your blog username :) ), we have decided to add a poll to our thread which will ask you subscribers the following question: "what time slot did you receive for 03/22 interview?"

We are hoping that by including this poll, it will allow those of you on here who were invited to the interview to have a better idea of who you might be interacting with in the group during the interview. We also hope that this will lower our anxiety a little bit. :)

Thank you Gradius for a great idea and please all of you out there participate.

Thanks.

You go fight this girl! Express to them what you just told us on here. This should not be happening. Those are life changing decisions for us and for them a bunch of papers that have to be dealt with. Don't take no for an answer. I wouldn't!!

First I'm going to let them resolve it with the right outcome. If they do not, then I will unleash the fury! Have to be careful. I don't want to cause a ruckus and get blacklisted! LOL From you guys I know about the various group sizes so I assume that the person I have been e-mailing will find that out and it will be resolved. This would have all gone much smoother I"m sure if Alton Austin were in the office. It seems he was the person they thought should handle this!
