Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats to those who got into the 2012 UCF nursing program this summer.

I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.

Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going through next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.

Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.

Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013? I'm starting this thread in hopes of finding many of you who wouldn't mind going through this somewhat stressful process together! :)

I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated route, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up option, which will start in the fall of 2013.

Anyone has taken TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.90 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.

Thanks for all of your responses.

Best of luck!!!

Cum GPA: 3.5

Prereq GPA: 3.9

TEAS 89.3

See not far off. I'm still hoping for the best but at the same time I trust God's plan in all this and perhaps he thinks the basic program is better for me. I know there are a lot more applicants there but I also like to think that those of us who have degrees behind us might be better candidates there than the first time crowd. I like the idea of a slightly lesser load but hate the thought of it starting a semester later and taking a semester longer!

I feel like they should have done all the inviting by now since you guys are to start calling to "book" appts in the morning. Unless they start inviting an afternoon crowd now and that is why were are only 24-36 interviewee spots. Perhaps they don't realize threads like this exist so we know people are invited and the rest of us are bumming about it!

a) Re: Interview spots and times, Keep in mind those of us on this thread could only be a small percentage of those who applied, that is, I'm sure there are other applicants who have not discovered AllNurses.com.

b) My stats were lower than yours, in all 3 categories, so you definitely sound Interview-worthy.

I wish you good luck on your call.

Our stats are almost identical.

3.5 GPA

3.8 prereq GPA

89.3 TEAS

Hopefully it was just another miscommunication. Good luck!

What time is everyone's interview? I got the 9:30 arrival/10 am interview.

I'm at 9:30 arrival / 10am interview too! :)

I'll be arriving at 8:30/9am interview.

So, I asked how many candidates are going to be interviewed on 03/22. They said about a 100.

So yeah, definitely multiple groups of 4-6 at four different time slots.

I chose 9am interview because I figured the earlier the better, and the feeling of having it behind me will awesome. I will be able to move on with my day.

See you there! :)

I have the 8:30/9am interview too! I'm a morning person, I wanna get it over with! See you there!

I'm at 8:30/9am as well. The guy on the phone did not give me an option. He just said he is filling the 8:30/9 time slot. I tried to ask him about the process, but he said I'd get more information that morning. I tried to get directions, he said just to Mapquest it.

So, I guess I didn't get the most helpful scheduler. OK, so 100-ish people right, those are pretty good odds actually. Some other candidates might be waiting on letters from other schools, so this might drop.

Same here. My brain is operating more efficiently in the morning.

Wonderful. See you there.

I am having such a hard time concentrating on work since last week's email. I can't believe that if all goes well and all of us conversing here pass the interview, that we are due to start the roller coaster in two months. All I want to do right now is read everything on the internet about nursing school interviews.
