Hello everyone. I'm new to allnurses.com and I just wanted to say congrats to those who got into the 2012 UCF nursing program this summer.

I am a prenursing student at UCF as I am still working on a few prerequisites before I apply to CON.

Seeing you all on here, all going through the things I'll be going through next spring makes me feel better about this whole process.

Good luck to everyone!!! Strap in! It's going to be one kind of a ride from what I've heard.

Is there anyone out there who is planning on applying to accelerated program (ABSN) that starts in summer 2013? I'm starting this thread in hopes of finding many of you who wouldn't mind going through this somewhat stressful process together! :)

I am very excited and hopeful that I'll be accepted next year. I already have a bachelor's degree in finance and investments so my #1 choice is the accelerated route, however I will also apply to the basic program as a back up option, which will start in the fall of 2013.

Anyone has taken TEAS yet? I took it in spring semester and scored 82. My overall GPA is 3.90 and prerequisite GPA 4.0 so far. I still have 4 prerequisites to complete. Should I retake the TEAS? I heard that scoring 90 or above makes you really competitive.

Thanks for all of your responses.

Best of luck!!!

It's interesting that there are 4 interview times to chose from and they will be in groups of 4-6.. at most that means that only 24 people are interviewing? I must be reading something wrong..

They'll probably have multiple interviews going on at once. I'm interviewing at UNF tomorrow for their accelerated program, and they're interviewing about 170 people for both the accel and regular programs in 4 time slots in group interviews of 4 to 6 candidates.

Letter!!!!!!!

Smaller groups than expected. That's great though, it means you get more speaking time and an opportunity to make a good impression.

So last year's cohort started around 60 people I guess. I'm really curious if they have waitlisted anyone yet or if those decisions are made after the interview. I read somewhere that they waitlist anywhere from 30-40 people, but they also have never done any interviews before so I don't know how applicable that information is now. I haven't heard of someone not getting an interview yet...

Ok, were the invites in your UCF e-mails??? Still nothing.... stressing out! Honestly I haven't really thought that I might not get one but you never know how "smart" the other applicants are or how many there are. Praying it shows up in the next 24 hours!

It will come to the same email you got your application stuff sent to.

well tomorrow is another day! I will just hope they had a big stack and only got partway through it. Based on everything they told us I should get an interview. And from my notes from the info session, If you get an interview the least you will get is waitlisted. They did basic interviews before and realized they interviewed way too many people that time.

Last time CON was sending invitations during Cocoa and Daytona campus recruitment period, one of my friends received the email late that night. So nothing to worry at this point.

Also, check your spam box.

Good luck.

Looking forward to meeting all of you who received interview letters on the 12th. :)

I meant on the 22nd. Lol

just curious what are the times of the interviews? and do you get to pick or did they assign? Someone somewhere said it was only like 20-30 min but if they are only doing 4 slots maybe longer this time. I'm one of those who needs to make arrangements for that day so trying to gather as much info as possible! Well now that you said someone got one late at night I"ll be checking my phone all night through dinner and not wanting to go to bed in case it comes LOL Just what I need when I'm supposed to be volunteering at the hospital in the morning!

I also got an invitation email for an interview. Super excited!

I volunteer at Florida Hospital on Fridays. :) which hospital do you volunteer at?

As far as the interview times go, the email said that we are to call anytime from March 11 at 8:00am until 5pm on March 15 to schedule one of the possible times of arrival to the interview which are: 8:30,9:30,10:30 and 11:30am. This mean which ever time you reserve you must arrive at and the interview will start 30 min later. So if you schedule your arrival for 8:30, the interview won't probably start until 9am.
