    Agree Florida Hospital Tampa and HCA hospitals I would take a pass on. Tampa General only hires BSN RNs. Iasis hospitals advertise that they have a new grad program but they do not. Good luck!!

    I saw that too. I was going to call and see if they actually hire new grads.

    I will have my BSN next year...how do I find new grad residencies at Tampa General???

    I haven't actually seen it anywhere on their website. You can call the HR department and ask about it.

    Thanks. I will do that. I live in Central Florida but know that the market is tough for new grads. Going to apply to very thing in hopes that I at least get an interview for a graduate residency somewhere in Florida!

    No problem! What part? Tampa is tough, that's where I'm at and I live in the very northern part so if I commute to St Pete area I don't have to just go across the bridge, I've got to go all the way south and then cross, so that's fun. A friend of mine though lives in Orlando and has two jobs already! I'm so jealous but in a good way. So happy she's had great luck! I hope by the time I finish my BSN I won't be eligible for new grad programs... I hope I'll have a job by then (I have my ADN).

    I live in Orlando. The market isn't too bad, pay starts around $21/hour. But I want ED at a Level 1 Trauma center. So TGH, ORMC...those are what I am looking for really. I know as a new grad it's hard to get there, but you have to dream, right?

    Wow, you guys really must not like Florida Hospital Tampa. Yeah, the old UCH wasn't all that, but the ownership company has been pouring money and resources into the hospital like crazy. I've been there about three years (two as a Nurse Tech, and a couple months as a Nurse Resident) and have loved it. Go where you feel most comfortable and where you feel you have a chance to do what you'd like!

    I don't personally have anything against the hospital, I'd love to just get some experience wherever and loved it when I gave birth to my little one there. I have just been advised by three employees (one who is a family member) there to avoid it if I can but they obviously don't hate it that much to quit so it can't be that bad. I'm glad you've had a great experience. I plan on applying for their new grad residency this month.
