hi everyone, i am very anxious to apply to this accelerated bsn, but i have read some negative post about the remington college, such as no accreditation, not able to find a job after graduation, expensive school etc...
i am very confused and don't want to jump into a deep well.
does anyone know anything about this program or the remington college?
this accelerated program seems fairly new.
any insigth would be greatly appreciated.
i wouldn't worry about things you can't control. there are other things to worry about? :typinghave you seen the schedule? it's very challenging.
accreditation is from ccne:
its a brand new school, accredidation does take a little bit. i'm not sure most knows what its like to go through an accreditation. they have applied for the accreditation, its a process...they wil have their site visit from the accreditting agency in nov. shortly they will find out about the accreditation. from my impression of them when i visited the facilities, its a beautiful school, the staff is top notch. i dont think they will have an issue.
so, what is the big deal with being accreditted:
- alot of the scholarship for nurses ask that the school be accredited by
ccne or nlnac.
- most travel agencies want hire nurses from accredited schools.
- some higher degree schools accept degrees from only accredited schools.
rn license is different:
you can sit for the nclex, rn license is the main goal.
most states only require that you have a current licensed if you wish to apply for their license.
as far as finding a job. remington students clinicals are at the major hospitals. additionally, some of the hospitals position that are open for new rn requires a bsn degree.
i would love to go there but the travel was my issue. good luck with your choice.
