Hello I've received my letter of acceptance yesterday for the January 2012 class! for those out there worried about getting in, please do not worry heavily on your TEAS score.....I scored only a 70.7! They look at your over all application. My prereq GPA is around a 3.6 or 3.7....overall GPA with My Biomedical Science degree a mere 3.1....I am a CNA, so at least I had experience!! Don't be afraid! APPLY!!! :) :) See you at orientation westrike!!!!

PS: I read a lot on this thread concerning Remington College's accreditation and such. Like the orientation video says, a school may or may not accept this schools credit. I plan on becoming a NP. I live here in orlando so NSU was the school I was looking into. That school has the same accreditation (CCNE) as Remington. I have also emailed them. These credits will role over just fine. Now...like the video said...most STATE colleges will not accept these credits such as USF, UCF, UF, etc. I have not researched those schools though. At the end of the day...If I get stuck as an RN Im fine with that! Nursing is awesome!:-) Good luck everyone with your choice of schools. The decision is hard for sure!

I'm a little confused about everything people are arguing about. Per Remington's website, it proclaims that they're accredited by the CCNE. Graduating from a program accredited by this body is almost always required if you plan on applying to a graduate nursing program. At this point, Remington sounds good! Now is Remington nationally or regionally accredited and what's the difference? Is one one more limiting than the other? I would think only having a regional accreditation would be more of a hinderance if you planned to go to grad school out of state but not locally. let me know if someone can clear this up and congrats to cheergirl09, im sure you worked hard to it.

Cheergirl09... I am thinking to apply to RCON for july cohort. I live in NJ but I am going to relocate with my husband. My undergrad gpa is 3.06 and prereqs 3.0 I am also a CNA for more than two years now. Do you guys think I have a chance to get in? My gpa is not competitive. I will try to study hard for the TEAS. Any thoughts on TEAS? Is the study guide worth paying for it? Any advise would be highly appreciated.

Congrats on everyone who got accepted!

Caryn88 - congratulations on your admission, I'm sure you worked hard for it. I haven't been able to talk with Remington directly but what were some typical numbers for admitted applicants? Mainly GPA and TEAS scores. Were you admitted to the accelerated program? Do you know about how many students they admit per cohort? Once again, congrats and please reply when you get a moment. Thanks.

I believe there are 50 students per cohort and the admissions rep said you should have a TEAS score in the 80s to be competitive. I was accepted for the January cohort as well, so I'll see you all there. I don't want to post them here, but I'll share my GPA and TEAS score (and any other info you'd like) by email at [email protected]. I wonder how many UCF grads will be there...

Congrats to everyone getting accepted!

I received my acceptance letter earlier in Oct, just found this thread now though.

Im excited to make the big move (all the way from Vermont) and meet everyone!

I'll be looking for a roommate eventually...(I already have living arrangements for the first month or so). Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Also, for those applying/worried about it, My GPA was definitely not very competitive, but I made up for it in other areas. Just work hard and be consistent and you'll make it!

SamanthaNell88,

Hi! Yah i am really excited to start! When you say you have living arrangements for the first month, so you are not looking for a roommate now? I live in south florida, so its not that big of a move, only 3 hours away... I know orlando very well, I did go to my undergrad at UCF, which is pretty close to Remington, I am looking for a place as well as a roommate, I would like to be moved in by orientation if that is possible. If you are interested to get a place and a roommate right away, let me know because I have been searching online, and there isnt too much. If you are interested let me know...

Caryn88,

For the first month & 1/2, im staying in one of the furnished apartments at a place near the school. After I was accepted, I didn't have time to go down and check out apartments or the areas they were in, so I'll be at one of the "ExecuStay" places until I find something else, and do furniture shopping and whatnot.

Where are you looking at places? Feel free to email @ [email protected] instead of messaging here again

:)

Have any of you secured your funding? Our only option is Sallie Mae?

If you're interested in a 2 bed/2.5 townhouse in Winter Springs, feel free to call or text 407-608-8141. I've lived here during my year at RCON, and it's been great. Pool, hot tub, sauna, washer/dryer, dishwasher included.
